Areas of Practice
Shelley & Schulte, P.C., advises, counsels, and represents people in their employment relationships. Our core areas of interest are Fair Employment Practices, Overtime and Wage Claims, Partner and Member Disputes, and Employment Contracts.
Fair Employment Practices are the laws and regulations that make discrimination, retaliation, and harassment illegal. You can find out more about Fair Employment Practices here.
Overtime and Wage Claims are claims for money earned but not paid under the Fair Labor Standards Act. You can find out more about Overtime and Wage Claims here.
When we talk about Employment Contracts, we are referring to the employment agreement itself, as well as things like non-disclosure, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreements, employment separation agreements, and executive compensation agreements. Our work in this area encompasses the negotiation and drafting of such agreements and litigation arising out of the breach of these agreements. You can find out more about Employment Contracts here.
Business Owner Disputes are related to employment matters in that they typically involve disagreements that arise among the owners of small business entities. The relationships among owners of a small business, whether the business is a partnership, corporation, or limited liability company, are usually governed by a mixture of statutory law and contracts among the owners and the business entity itself.
